TiviDeck vs iMPlayer: Apple and Android reach, or sports and family depth
iMPlayer reaches more devices: Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Android TV and Android phones, in 20 languages. TiviDeck runs on Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones (the iPhone app is on its way), is paid once from $9.99, and adds Stalker portals, profiles with a parental PIN, the Sports Hub, and Jellyfin, Emby and NAS libraries, which iMPlayer’s pages do not list.
What is iMPlayer
iMPlayer is an IPTV player for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Android TV and Android phones and tablets; its App Store listing also names the Mac and Apple Vision. Its site lists M3U and Xtream (XC API) logins, an EPG address with an M3U playlist, catch-up and local timeshift, recordings where the source allows, multi-view, films kept for offline, Trakt and a web dashboard.
It is a free download with a 24-hour Premium trial after you register. Like TiviDeck, it is a player and does not sell channels.
What is TiviDeck
TiviDeck is a player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones, with a separate app designed for the phone; the iPhone app is on its way to the App Store. It plays your own provider: an Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist or a Stalker portal, and your own Jellyfin, Emby or NAS library. TiviDeck does not provide channels or content.
It installs from Google Play on Android TV and phones, or by hand from tivideck.com/get (Downloader code 1983787 on a Fire TV). Premium adds the Sports Hub, multi-view, recordings, profiles with a kids’ world, and sync across every TV and phone in the household.
