TiviDeck vs TiviMate: the familiar Android TV player, or one paid once with sports and family built in
Both play the provider you already pay for on Android TV, and both list catch-up, recordings, multi-view and parental controls. TiviMate is sold by monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, with prices shown at purchase, and its site says it is not optimized for phones and tablets. TiviDeck is paid once ($9.99 for two devices, $14.99 for five), has a separate phone app, and adds a Sports Hub, profiles with a kids’ world, and Jellyfin, Emby and NAS libraries.
What is TiviMate
TiviMate is an IPTV player for Android TV. Its Google Play listing names Xtream Codes, M3U and Stalker portal logins, and its site lists catch-up, recordings, multi-view and parental controls. Its site also says the app is not optimized for phones and tablets.
TiviMate is a free download, and paid upgrades unlock features. Its terms describe monthly or yearly subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase, with the price shown at purchase. Like TiviDeck, it is a player and does not sell channels.
What is TiviDeck
TiviDeck is a player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones, with a separate app designed for the phone; the iPhone app is on its way to the App Store. It plays your own provider: an Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist or a Stalker portal, and your own Jellyfin, Emby or NAS library. TiviDeck does not provide channels or content.
It installs from Google Play on Android TV and phones, or by hand from tivideck.com/get (Downloader code 1983787 on a Fire TV). Premium adds the Sports Hub, multi-view, recordings, profiles with a kids’ world, and sync across every TV and phone in the household.

Questions
Can I use my TiviMate provider login in TiviDeck?
Yes. TiviDeck reads the same Xtream Codes login, M3U address or Stalker portal, so nothing about your subscription changes. Close TiviMate on that box while you try TiviDeck, because most providers count each open player as a connection.
Is TiviDeck a subscription like TiviMate?
No. TiviMate’s terms describe monthly or yearly subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. TiviDeck has no subscriptions: Premium is $9.99 once for two devices or $14.99 once for five.
Does TiviDeck work on phones?
Yes. TiviDeck has a separate Android phone app with its own design, and it shares the household’s profiles, lists and Continue watching with your TVs. TiviMate’s site says it is not optimized for phones and tablets.
Does TiviDeck have multi-view and recordings like TiviMate?
Yes. Multi-view shows up to eight channels, in a grid or floating, as many as your box can draw, and recordings use series rules and are kept on the box, a USB drive or your own NAS or server. Both are part of Premium.
Does either app include channels?
No. TiviMate and TiviDeck are both players. TiviDeck plays your own provider and does not provide channels or content.
